Mounir M. Wassef, D.O., is a Board-Certified Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon, certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine. He serves as the founder and medical director of the Dermatology & Cutaneous Surgery Institute (DCSI), with locations in Wellington and Delray Beach.
Dr. Wassef earned his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in the top 7% of his class and with membership in Sigma Sigma Phi, America’s Honorary Osteopathic Service Fraternity. He completed his first residency in Internal Medicine at West Palm Hospital, achieving board certification in Internal Medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.
Following this, he pursued a second residency in Dermatology at the same institution, where he received comprehensive training in General and Surgical Dermatology, including Mohs micrographic surgery, skin cancer detection and treatment, dermatopathology, phototherapy for psoriasis and other skin conditions, and laser therapy. He is board-certified in dermatology and Mohs surgery, which reflects his expertise in these specialized areas of care.

Practice Manager
With over two decades of experience in healthcare, Karene Wassef brings expertise and dedication to her role as Practice Manager at DCSI. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business and Interpersonal Communication from the University of South Florida and later pursued a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Florida International University, alongside obtaining her Professional in Human Resources Certification.
Before joining DCSI, Karene honed her skills as a Human Resources Specialist and later as a Physician Recruiter, assisting doctors and their families in finding ideal career opportunities.
As Practice Manager, Karene ensures the seamless operation of the office while prioritizing patient needs. From scheduling appointments and answering procedure-related questions to navigating insurance issues and billing inquiries, Karene manages every aspect of the practice with efficiency and care.
Outside the office, Karene is a devoted mother of three boys and an accomplished triathlete who finds time to work out four days a week, balancing her professional and personal life with grace and determination.
