Neuromodulators

A revolutionary approach to reversing the effects of aging, neuromodulators make wrinkles in your face a thing of the past. Signs of aging in the face are known as dynamic wrinkle lines, and they are all treatable with botulinum toxin injections (commercially known as Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin).

Before Getting Neuromodulator for Aging Skin

To better understand your overall health, our cosmetic dermatologist will evaluate your medical history. A complete examination of your eyes is made in order to decipher the most effective injection sites for this procedure on your unique face. All issues, concerns, and your goals will be discussed in your pre-procedure consultation. The areas you wish to be treated with neuromodulators are clearly marked, and digital photographs are taken in order to compare before and after photos, showing clear improvement after surgery.

During Your Procedure

As a virtually painless procedure, neuromodulator injections are performed without anesthesia. You may feel a small sting when the injections are made, but this will subside quickly.

The Effects of Neuromodulators

The effects of neuromodulators are temporary, as they may need to be repeated two to three times per year to retain. However, research has suggested that the long-term use of neuromodulator injections leads to a longer duration of each treatment’s effects.

Patients over the age of 65 may not experience results as dramatic as patients with younger skin; botulinum toxin is only useful in treating expression lines and cannot be properly used to repair sagging skin that has been caused by aging.

Possible side effects are temporary weakness of nearby muscles, or in rare cases, an eyelid may slightly droop. Botulinum toxin is completely reversible, so any side effect experienced is only a temporary condition. Your dermatologist in Wellington or Delray Beach will explain all the risks associated with the procedure at the time of your consultation.

Post-Injection information

After your injections, you may experience slight bruises around the area that has been treated, but these markings will quickly fade.

Normal activities can be performed immediately.

Am I A Candidate for Anti-Aging Injectables?

If you are a patient who has good overall physical, mental, and emotional health, you are a good candidate for this cosmetic dermatology procedure.

You are not a good candidate for injectables or fillers if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have skin conditions that result in infection, have allergies, are hypersensitive, or take medications that may interact with neuromodulators.
