Every day some doctors go a shift, or multiple shifts, without hearing a “thank you” or a form of appreciation for what they do for everyone. And they do a lot… With everything happening in today’s world, our doctors and physicians need more thanks and appreciation than ever before. Whether it’s a small gesture or a simple “thank you”, it would make your doctor’s day to feel the recognition for what they do.  For National Doctor’s Day 2022, DCSI wants to take the time to show our gratitude for our own Dr. Mounir M. Wassef, D.O., FAOCD, FAAD, and his South Florida dermatology practices.

What Is Doctor’s Day?

National Doctor’s Day is on March 30th, 2022. It is a day that honors the professionals for what they do and their dedication to it. It is an entire day meant as a big “thank you” to those who take care of our communities in all medical fields. The first Doctor’s Day was observed in 1933 in Winder, Georgia. Dr. Charles B. Almond’s wife wanted a day to honor her husband and those in his profession Greeting cards were sent from around the community and red carnations were placed on the graves of deceased doctors. The red carnation still holds its place as the symbolic flower today. It wasn’t until 1991, when President George H.W. Bush proclaimed the day, that the first National Doctor’s Day was recognized.

With National Doctor’s Day 2022 fast approaching, our dermatologist in South Florida also wants to remind you that another way to show appreciation is to stay on top of your health and skincare. Keeping consistent dermatology appointments and taking care of your skin is a great way to make your dermatologists feel heard. They spend their time analyzing and assessing each situation and give the best advice they can to help us. The least we can do is listen to their guidance.

It is critical to see your dermatologists because they can educate, screen, and treat issues or questions you may have about your skin. Your skin is the largest organ in your body, so why wouldn’t you want to take the time to take care of it. They work with hair and nails too.
